Burn ban in effect in Gonzales County starting Friday August 7

fire ban

Gonzales County will institute a burn ban on Friday August 7, 2020.

All fires burning outside of an enclosure serving to contain all flames or sparks are prohibited until the burn ban is lifted. Violating a burn ban order can result in a citation and fine.

Exceptions to this burn ban include the burning of prickly pear for livestock feed.

The order will remain in place for 90 days or until drought conditions no longer exist, as determined by the County Judge.
